WOODEN BOAT CENTRE
Once the site of the Huon's shipbuilding powerhouse, today it's a working museum and Australia's only wooden shipbuilding school.
Come aboard The Admiral to take up an oar on Australia's oldest surviving row boat and share a bit of history. Rides depart hourly between 11:30 am and 4:30 Saturday. Adults $10, kids $5.
Nancy is a 101 year old motor launch. She operated as a ferry on the Derwent and Huon rivers for 40 years. Lovingly restored, you can now come aboard and step back in time.
FRANKLIN FORESHORE WALK
Take a walk along the Franklin foreshore and boardwalk to take in the scenic and majestic views of the Huon river and surrounding mountains.
OFF SITE ADVENTURES
Pack more fun into the festival weekend with a quick trip to one of these nearby destinations, before returning to the festival for more entertainment. Buses will be departing festival grounds regularly. For connecting bus details refer to the GUIDES page.
Depart the Festival Arena to experience a hanglide from the treetops over the Huon River or a walk through the forest floor and into the canopy. Allow 3 hours, including travel.
HASTINGS CAVES & THERMAL SPRINGS
Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs offers visitors a variety of experiences, from relaxing in the warm waters of a thermal springs pool, walking in the rich forests of the reserve and, the unique experience of exploring Newdegate Cave on a guided tour. Allow 4 hours, including travel.
HUON JET BOATS
Hold on tight and head up the Huon River for the ride of a lifetime. Feel the adrenalin surge as the jet boat quickly accelerates to speeds of up to 80kph. Boats depart hourly between 9 AM and 4 PM from Huonville.
FREE TRY SAILING
The Huon Yacht Club will be offering free ‘Try Sailing’ sessions to festival ticket holders at the Yacht Club at Shipwrights Point, Port Huon. Allow 1 hour, including travel.
